Mindfulness & Productivity

"A fantastic workshop which i thoroughly enjoyed. So much food for thought. Thank you Andy!"
- David, ClientEarth

I run workshops and courses on topics like Mindful Productivity, How to Disconnect from Work, and the Business Case for Kindness. Her are some more details:

1. Intro to mindfulness and meditation

Despite the hype and masses of media converge, many people still aren’t very clear what mindfulness is and what it’s for. In this interactive session you will learn the basics, and how it can help you to feel happier, healthier and more fulfilled.

An interactive session which will include a guided meditation.

Outcomes:

-> Learn the difference between mindfulness and meditation
-> Experience how meditation can make you calm and focused
-> Connect to colleagues with an interest in this area

2. Boosting productivity with mindfulness

It can be hard to concentrate when you're working from home! Messages constantly pinging and buzzing, people talking around the house… not to mention the chatterbox inside your own head.

In this one hour workshop you will learn practical ways to:
-> Train your mind to increase concentration
-> Improve your focus while working
-> Communicate more effectively

3. How to overcome procrastination

Procrastination is a protective behaviour: it is to prevent you from feeling discomfort. But it can lead to feeling frustrated, unfulfilled and self-critical.

In this workshop you will learn:

-> How to get clear what it is you really want to achieve
-> The real reasons you procrastinate
-> The most effective strategies for getting the most important things done

You will begin to understand your own behaviours with more depth which will give you the power to change them. You will learn useful tools you can start using immediately to make your life better

A life of freedom, fun, connection and adventure is right there, waiting for you to step into. With just a few small changes, you can effect profound and lasting change in your life.

Stress & anxiety

4. Managing stress, mindfully

A certain amount of stress is a good thing because it motivates us. However, when our system is under too much pressure, it is detrimental to health, happiness and performance.

This workshop will help you to identify the signs that you are overstressed, as well as teaching you practical tools to help you to:

-> De-stress in one minute
-> Let go of negative repetitive thoughts
-> Switch your off at night so you can recuperate

5. Three ways to calm an anxious mind

For many people Lockdown has been an anxious time, and as people concerned about climate change, there is no shortage of news stories to make you worried.

But whether you can do something about a problem or not, worrying won't help you deal with it. It's praying for what you don't want to happen.

This session will give you practical tools to help you to:

-> Use breathing to calm your mind in thirty seconds
-> Let go of negative repetitive thoughts
-> Switch your mind off at night so you can sleep

These are skills that will make you more resilient to future stressful situations both in work and your personal life.

6. How to make friends with fear

Jack Canfield said that everything you want is on the other side of fear. Sounds about right, doesn’t? If it wasn’t for fear, we’d do all the things we would love to do. Nothing would hold us back.

So how do you deal with fear? Try to suppress it? Overpower it? Ignore it? Well what if you were able to make friends with it. What if feeling it was no longer a problem or a barrier? What if you were no longer afraid of fear?

I’ll tell you what would happen. You would be unstoppable!

In this workshop, Mindfulness Coach Andy Hix will guide us through exercises that will help us talk to our fear, to understand it and through that come into a more positive relationship with it.

7. Mindfulness for better sleep

Being underslept is like being drunk - you think you are fine but actually your performance is dramatically impaired. Not only that, but in the long term it affects your chances of getting cancer, alzheimer's, how much junk food you eat, your concentration, decision-making and mood.

But sometimes, try as you might, you just can’t get to sleep. This workshop will cover:

-> The science-backed benefits to at least 7-hours sleep
-> A breathing exercise to calm an active mind
-> A meditation to put your body into a deep state of relaxation so you will be out for the count in no time.

8. Disconnecting from work, mentally & emotionally

It’s all too common these days for people to think about work all the time - evenings, weekends, holidays - waking up in the middle of the night thinking about it...

This session will give you practical tools to help you to:

-> Use breathing to calm your mind
-> Let go of negative repetitive thoughts
-> Switch your mind off at night so you can sleep
